Jesus’ discipleship model centered on multiplication. This is highlighted in Luke 10, when he appointed out seventy-two others to go ahead in every town, two by two.
As college ministers, we have the exciting opportunity to pour into the next generation. We not only point them to Christ, but we teach them how to point other’s to Christ.
Below are a few helpful resources that we have come across to help you create a culture of multiplication on your campus!
- Fuel and the Flame by Paul Worcester and Steve Shadrach
Evangelism begins with a solid foundation for Christ. Fuel and Flame offers college students foundational truths and practical ways to share the gospel and disciple others. If you have already gone through this book with some of your core leaders, encourage them to start small groups going using this book and challenge them to apply these practices as they go out to share on campus. - 3 Habits for Everyday Evangelism by Paul Worcester
If you have already led a group through the Fuel and The Flame, this is a good follow up for your students! This book will help them grow into disciples who make evangelism a lifestyle. The best part is that you can get this ebook currently for free. Download here. - One-on-One Discipleship
One of the most impactful things is getting to walk a person through passages in the Bible as you disciple them. As a college student, learning how to disciple others one-on-one will be something that they can carry with them throughout their lives. The BSU at the University of Southern Mississippi has given this resource to their students as a bookmark in the past. We like the idea of giving students a bookmark to keep in their Bibles for one-on-one meetings, whether they are doing follow ups from a Gospel appointment or meeting together with a younger believer to help them understand the word. Check out USM’s bookmark here.
